Dance is dynamic and powerful. It embodies our ideas, thoughts, emotions and values and provides a unique opportunity to develop physically, creatively, aesthetically, emotionally and intellectually.
At Bunbury Catholic College students have the opportunity to study a range of dance genres, such as Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Irish, Spanish, Swing and Belly dance. We also have Liturgical Dance Ensembles that participate in College Liturgies and Masses, enabling students to more fully immerse themselves in their faith.
Students studying dance at Bunbury Catholic College have the opportunity to participate in a range of performances: our bi-annual Dance Showcases, WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod, Catholic Performing Arts Festival, Students in the Spotlight exhibition, and Orientation days to name a few.
Through participation in the Dance courses at Bunbury Catholic College, students develop transferable skills essential to their future. These include communication skills, collaborative teamwork skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, problem solving skills, as well as the ability to organise, analyse and evaluate. Participation may lead to opportunities for future study in dance or related arts fields.
