Band Camp

30 Mar 2017

Jacqui Granger News

Busselton Band Camp

48 music students participated in a 3-day music camp during March at the Baptist Camping Centre, Busselton.  The aim of the camp was to develop repertoire for the year and to encourage students to incorporate appropriate learning techniques with their specific disciplines. Thanks to our tutors, Ms Gracie Smith for the Percussion Ensemble and Ms Sue Leclair for the choir.

We had a visit from the Perth based group “Kaboom” who enthused everyone with their hands on percussion workshop.  The camp ended with a concert for parents.  While the concert was an informal affair, the students presented some very polished items.  Thanks to the music staff, Ms Sinead Liddelow and Mr Luke Campbell and our kitchen staff Mrs Karen Walker and her helpers, Katherine Dorrens and Anthea Turkington.
