BCC v Dalyellup College 7 June
BCC encountered Dalyellup College for the first time in this matchup. Logan Farr continued his excellent form, top scoring for BCC with 11 points and making some good defensive stops. He was well supported by Nick Dinkgreve (8 points), Clayton Dickinson and Patt Wright (7 points each).
Finn Rossiter continued to show tenacity in defence and Ben Harris was energetic in both offence and defence. Cambell Maynard made his debut appearance for BCC and performed very well, scoring 6 points and hustling well in defence. The final score saw BCC victorious at 43 to 25.
BCC v Newton Moore 12 June
Craig Kamocha played extremely well, showcasing his manoeuvrability, his ball handling skills and his finishing finesse. Clayton Dickinson scored some nice shots from beyond the three point line, with Nick Dinkgreve and Patt Wright also hitting some shots. Finn Rossiter’s increasing confidence allowed him to attack the basket and score a nice shot from beyond the three point line. Ben Harris was energetic as always, making some well-timed cuts and passes. All players contributed to the score sheet, but inaccurate shooting and poor decision making resulted in the game deteriorating into a shootout, where BCC went down 53 to Newton Moore 67.
BCC vs Manea 14 June
Injury and other commitments saw BCC calling on Cambell Maynard to once again step in and fill the void. He did so admirably, restricting his much bigger opponent to only 6 points. Griffin Russell shot the lights out and came away with a very slick 25 points and ‘D-Train’ Dom Dagostino dusted off his boots to make a solid 12 point contribution. BCC were down by 8 points at half time, but Griff’s golden touch and a welcome return to the court for Alistair Ishigami-Sims (14 quick fire points) backed by solid defensive efforts and buckets from Ben Harris (4 points) and Finn Rossiter (a HUGE 3 pointer) saw BCC produce a fantastic 16 point turnaround, running out winners 58 to 50.
BCC vs Grammar 21 June
In a fitting end to their BCC basketball careers Clayton Dickinson (15 points), Nick Dinkgreve (14 points) and Dom Dagostino (15 points including a career highlight 3 pointer) all had excellent games. Excellent contributions both offensively and defensively from Finn Rossiter and Ben Harris saw BCC lead from start to finish, running out winners 47 to 35.
Special thanks to Ms Kelly Bastow for always offering to referee the games, to Ellie Gillett and Logan Farr who happily scored and supported the team each week, and to Mr Vlad Alava for the organisation of the games so that the boys could continue to represent BCC with such skill, spirit and sportsmanship.
I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching the boys over the past year, and sincerely thank them for all of their efforts.
Ms Kerry Langley
