Cert II Film & Photography TAFE Tour

13 Jun 2017

Jacqui Granger News vocational ed

Last Tuesday 30 May the Year 11 and 12 Certificate II Film and Photography classes went on a tour of the three Perth TAFE campuses.  We started at the East Perth Campus, where students were informed about the game design and animation course options.  We got to play on some computer games made by TAFE students, as well as see students drawing straight to screen, using the latest technology.

From the East Perth campus we walked to the Northbridge campus, where we were shown a fantastic short film, produced by TAFE students, as well as tour the Film and Television facilities and meet some of the lecturers and students.  During lunch we enjoyed the Cultural Centre of Perth before driving to Leederville TAFE to check out the radio and music facilities.  TAFE has a totally student-run radio station (Boom Radio) and it was great for students to be able to see how that works.  Several students also had the opportunity to be interviewed live on air, which was an exciting way to end the day before the drive back to Bunbury.

I think it’s safe to say that everyone had an enjoyable and informative day!
