In order to graduate from high school and achieve the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), all students are required to demonstrate a minimum standard in literacy and numeracy.

Those students in Years 10, 11 and 12 who have not achieved a Band 8 in their NAPLAN assessments, will be required to sit one or more of the OLNA (Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessments) in March.

Teachers will provide details to all of the students involved, as well as resources to help prepare for OLNA in both the English and Mathematics classes.

Mathematics tutorials, at the Marist Campus, tailored to OLNA preparation, will be conducted in Vet 1 every Monday afternoon from 3pm until 4pm.  The Mathematics tutorials on the Mercy campus will be from 3.00pm until 4pm every Thursday, in AC8 for Years 7-9 and AC9 for Years 10-12.

General English tutorials are held in the Marist Learning Commons, every Wednesday afternoon, from 3pm until 4pm and all students are encouraged to access the extensive resources that we offer.

Tutorials will also be hold on the Mercy campus in AC8 during lunchtime on Tuesday and in AC9 from 3pm until 4pm on Thursdays.

The English and Mathematics learning areas will communicate with all students who are sitting OLNA.

If you have any questions in this regard, please contact Ms Brigid Terry for English or Mrs Leah Mackay for Mathematics on the Marist campus, or Mr Bradley Dunn or Mrs Isabella Bradley, on the Mercy campus.

We wish all our OLNA students the very best for the first round of assessments in March.
