The BCC Touring Team have returned from the annual Marist Carnival with a win in the Challenge division!
This year’s carnival was held in Forbes, NSW. In the Challenge division final the team played a brilliant game against Marist Sion, Warragul, winning 25 – 2! This is an extraordinary result in a final and most finals are decided by 5 goals or less!
Shantelle Tassone was awarded the “players’ player” – which represents the player ‘most wanted’ by opposing teams throughout the carnival. This was much deserved and a credit to Shantelle’s performance over the carnival duration.
The following players were awarded ‘player of the day’ for our own BCC team – Shantelle Tassone (day 1), Lilly Taylor (day 2) and Courtney Smaniotto (day 3).
All of the girls are to be congratulated and commended for their efforts and performance. They have worked hard for 9 months (or more) to achieve these results. The team will now complete their season in the Busselton competition and compete in the High Schools Cup elimination day in Perth early next term.
The girls performed very well throughout the carnival and were excellent ambassadors for the College throughout the tour.
Many thanks to all the parents and supporters, with special thanks to Myrna Carbone, Ludita McLean and Kerrie Downes for their managing/coaching and ‘mothering’ of the girls throughout the annual campaign!

CALLING ALL YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 16-29 YEARS OLD! We need your help! Pope Francis wants to hear from you! The Catholic Church’s #Synod2018 of Young People is approaching and the Pope wants to hear from as many young people as possible from all across the world! It’s a chance for your VOICE to be HEARD no matter who you are. Pope has said we want to hear from you regardless of whether you consider yourself to be agnostic, atheist, a non-church goer or lukewarm in the faith!
“This is the Synod of young people and we want to listen to one another. Every young person has something to say to others. He or she has something to say to adults, something to say to priests, sisters, bishops and even the Pope. All of us need to listen to you!” – Pope Francis, April 2017.

What a great effort by the College Cross Country team at the SWSSA carnival yesterday.
Despite leaving behind some very talented runners at school, our team still had the class to win Overall Champion School. Also taking out Year 7, Year 9 and Senior Champion shields.
We had terrific individual performances across both campuses and these students will be presented with SWSSA certificates at the NAIDOC Assembly next week.
A big thank you as well to Mike Hearne, Terri Gann and Paige McKenzie for their assistance.

Recently, we held our annual mid-year concert, presented by the BCC Cert III Music course. It was a great evening that showcased nearly one hundred of our students in a variety of different performances. We’d like to extend a big thank you to the staff and parents who assisted at the door and in the canteen on the night. Congratulations to all of the performers on such an amazing job!
