Tennis – Schools Classic South West

On Tuesday 21st February, BCC sent 13 teams to complete in the Schools Tennis Classic South West in Bunbury. Slightly blustery conditions made games challenging but the sun eventually shone and made for some great team performances. In the Herbert Edwards (junior) division BCC 1 took out the competition by finishing on top of their pool. The team consisted of Liam Cox, Aidan Hutchinson, Scott Tuia, Ryan Babich and Lachlan Lord, who were undefeated for the day.
Both the BCC number one ranked senior teams also took out their finals in the Mursell Cup.
The girls team; Kayla Myburgh, Summer O’Keefe, Courtney Babich and Kate Lockley won a tight match against Bunbury Cathedral Grammar.
Our senior boys; Cooper Smith, Connor Lord, Michael Frayne and Eckhard Strydom put in a strong performance against BCC 2 -Blair Hutton, Matt De Bonis, Tom Heenan and Jesse Musitano – coming out on top for the second consecutive year.
All our winning teams will now travel to Perth to compete for the title against some strong Metro competition.
