Our Elite Sports Program includes learning opportunities in sports performance, coaching and officiating that are not easily accessible in junior community sport. The program develops skills that are applicable to many sports.
We are mindful of our students having a high level of participation in community sport. The program is designed to maximise physical conditioning and skills in a way that does not overload teenagers during their growth and developmental stages. This is achieved by applying sport science principles, imparted by our experienced Health and Physical Education team. The program is age appropriate; many sessions will be physically challenging, however those with a good work ethic and a love of sport will thrive.
All students must apply annually for selection into the Elite Sports Program.
The application process is competitive. It considers each student’s significant sporting achievements, work ethic, athletic ability, behaviour and leadership skills.
Application process
Applications from students moving from primary school are called for late in Term 1, and finalised by the end of Term 2, in the year before the student starts secondary school.
A small number of vacancies may arise in Years 8 to 12. These are called for from mid-Term 1 and are finalised by the end of Term 3.
Applications from renewing Elite Sport Program students are requested and finalised during Term 3.
