Lower School and WACE Courses
Bunbury Catholic College offers music as an elective in lower school and also as an ATAR and Certificate subject in upper school. The subject covers all aspects of music, from theory and historical context, to composing and performing. All students are welcome to take music as a subject, and the earlier students start, the further even beginners can achieve in music for upper school/WACE.

The program offers paired and private lessons operating on a rotating timetable, limiting disruptions to daily class learning. There are also some instruments available for hire.
The Bunbury Catholic College Choir has great success. The Choir has performed at events such as the Perth Bunbury International Choral Festival, the City of Bunbury Eisteddfod, the dedication of St Patrick’s Cathedral and even embarked on a tours to China and New Zealand. All students are welcome to join the Choir (members are not auditioned) and it is a great opportunity to learn more about music and learn about singing as a group.
The Guitar ensemble caters for the large number of students learning guitar in private lessons at Bunbury Catholic College. The guitar ensemble offers a chance for all students learning guitar, to further their skills by participating in ensemble work.
The Bunbury Catholic College Jazz Band is a new addition to the ensembles at BCC. Previously known as the Concert Band, the Jazz Band has been reworked to form a new ensemble focusing on Jazz music (as the name suggests!). The Band welcomes new members as it continues to grow and expand.
The Jazz Guitar Ensemble is our elite guitar ensemble, performing a number of jazz tracks under the direction of Mr Luke Campbell. The much awarded Ensemble performs regularly across the region, both in and out of competition.
The Percussion Ensemble is a group consisting of students who learn drums and percussion at Bunbury Catholic College. The Percussion ensemble operates after school on a Friday.
Rock Tech is an after-school music program which allows students in the rock genre to learn how to work together to form or perform in bands. Rock Tech is held after school on Monday.
