(Hall of Distinction 2025)

Br Harry Prout grew up in Dardanup and attended St Francis Xavier College between 1961–1963. He joined the Marist Brothers in 1968 and has worked in several different roles enriching the lives of thousands of young people over the years.

For the past 20 years Br Harry has lived and worked with disadvantaged and marginalised people in the Olympic Village Exodus Community in Melbourne. His work was recognised through his association with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre when its founder received the inaugural Melburnian of the Year award in 2023.

Through his retreat manuals, thousands of Australian Catholic secondary students have had the opportunity to reflect on the importance of family and how they are created by God, and shaped by God and their families to answer the call to live loving lives.

Br Harry is a living example of the College motto: ‘To act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God”.
